I guess you could measure quality by summing awesomes/n instead.

I'm also wondering what the distribution over users is, i.e how much of the difference is individual users posting less vs users no longer posting at all.

I don't think awesome is a good metric because so many early dweets just have so many even though i think some of the best have been created in the past couple years.
